Churn Ghee is handcrafted in small batches. Every batch starts out as Amish Butter that comes from grass-fed and pasture-raised cows never treated with rBST or antibiotics. The pasture grass diet results in a butter that is naturally richer in Omega-3, CLA, butyric acid, and Vitamins A, E, and K than a butter made from conventional milk. To make our ghee, butter is gently simmered until the milk solids (lactose, casein, and whey proteins) start to brown and become solid. Once the simmering is complete, the ghee is clarified by being double filtered to remove the milk solids. Last, freshly scraped Premium Madagascar Vanilla Beans are added. The newly clarified ghee is a golden, delicious, and versatile cooking fat with a high smoke-point of up to 480F. It can be used as a substitute for many other cooking oils in cooking and baking and will add a decadent vanilla flavor to any dish.
